First Sermon of the Third Decade

Well, friends, we have made it to the Third Decade! But the change in decade does not indicate a change in topic; Bullinger continues through his exposition of the Decalogue with the eighth commandment, “Thou shalt not steal.” As usual, he argues for a sort of logical progression of the commandments: the sixth commandment dealt with the preservation of life, the seventh with the preservation of those joined in one flesh, and now we consider how to deal with the earthly goods needed to keep the sixth and seventh commandments.
